Us
Our
company is comprised of four divisions. Midland Insurance Group offers
accident and/or liability insurance for sports teams and leagues. Student
Plans provides college student health insurance, American Youth offers
student accident insurance to private and other K-12th grade schools
along with accident and / or liability insurance for sports teams and
leagues. Our Claims Department is a licensed third party
administrator that pays claims on the policies issued by the three
previous divisions.
Our
History & Business Philosophy
In
1958, we began providing student accident insurance for K-12th grade
schools in Illinois. Success in this area led to expansion of
student accident insurance coverage to schools in all 50 states over a
period of years.
Shortly
after the beginning of offering student accident insurance to K-12th
grade schools, we realized the need for college student health
insurance. Again, we started in Illinois and expanded nationwide
over time.
The
need for sports insurance has grown dramatically in the past 20 years
with the increase of sports teams across the country. Sports teams
and leagues are often required to have participant liability insurance to protect against lawsuits
and usually have accident medical insurance to help pay the medical bills if someone is injured. Our growth in this
area quickly expanded to all 50 states.
In
addition to providing coverage in these three areas, our philosophy has
always been to be a full-service company in order to have complete
in-house control of all aspects of the insurance program. Full
service includes quoting prices and coverage, binding coverage, issuing
policies and paying claims. Complete in-house control
results in only one entity being ultimately responsible for the success
of each separate part and of the program as a whole.
